PROJECTS

Sonoran Desert Parkway | Maricopa, AZ

EPS Group successfully designed a crucial part of the Sonoran Desert Parkway, a pioneering addition to Pinal County's East-West Corridor. This project, vital for regional transportation, includes the westernmost two miles of the Corridor and a new bridge over the Santa Rosa Wash, significantly enhancing connectivity and resilience.

The design also encompasses a half-mile stretch of Porter Road and required extensive coordination with adjacent developments to ensure seamless integration. Comprehensive planning by EPS Group incorporated essential elements like access points and utility infrastructure, guaranteeing the project's long-term functionality and benefit to the community.

Valencia/Kolb Road Intersection Improvement | Tucson, AZ

The Pima County Department of Transportation had extensively studied the Valencia/Kolb Road intersection in Tucson, Arizona, recognizing its critical role as a major artery connecting residential, commercial, and educational areas within the region's transportation network. The existing intersection suffered from severe congestion and delays, especially during peak hours. Despite years of exploring alternatives to enhance capacity and safety, Pima County DOT's recommended grade-separated solution failed to achieve the desired level of service and significantly exceeded the available funding of $30 million from the Pima Association of Governments | Regional Transportation Authority (PAG-RTA).

ST-0990 Ocotillo/Greenfield | Gilbert, AZ

EPS Group is actively engaged in the significant Town of Gilbert project ST-0990, centered on the Ocotillo Road corridor, which involves the annexation of existing Maricopa County right-of-way into the Town of Gilbert. This complex undertaking primarily focuses on widening Ocotillo Road from three to five lanes to improve traffic flow, alongside comprehensive infrastructure upgrades, including new sewer and drainage systems. Extensive coordination with numerous property owners is a crucial aspect of the project, ensuring smooth progress and community consideration. Construction is currently underway and is anticipated to be completed by July 2026, promising a significant enhancement to the Town of Gilbert's infrastructure.

Estrella Mountain Park RV Campground | Goodyear, AZ

The ongoing construction at Estrella Mountain Regional Park for Maricopa County Parks stands as a prime example of EPS Group's commitment to enhancing community recreational spaces. This significant project is transforming a 20-acre site within the park, soon to offer over 50 new RV campsites, designed to accommodate a growing number of visitors seeking outdoor experiences. Beyond the new campsites, the initiative includes comprehensive improvements to the park's infrastructure, encompassing new roadways for better access and upgraded utilities to support the expanded facilities. Furthermore, visitors can look forward to exciting new amenities, such as a dedicated dog park, providing even more diverse recreational opportunities. All these enhancements are meticulously designed to significantly elevate the park's overall presence and fulfill its core purpose of providing high-quality, accessible recreational spaces for everyone in the community to enjoy.

US-60X, Sossaman to Meridian Corridor Improvements | Mesa, AZ

EPS Group designed the 5-mile ADOT/MCDOT roadway project to significantly improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists by adding new lanes and sidewalks, ensuring a smoother experience for all travelers. Construction began in February 2024, focusing on median work, curbing, paving, drainage, and utility relocation. Key improvements include lengthening or adding new turn bays at Main Street/Apache Trail median crossovers, while some were removed to enhance traffic flow and safety. The 88th Street median crossover is currently closed for improvements but will reopen.

SR 347 UPRR Overpass | Maricopa, AZ

EPS Group was selected by ADOT to prepare a Design Concept Report (DCR) for the critical SR 347 grade separation over UPRR tracks, a project vital for improving Maricopa's access and mobility due to frequent train delays. Following the DCR, EPS Group completed the project's Final Design, a MAG region initiative jointly funded by FHWA (TIGER grant), ADOT, and the City of Maricopa. This complex undertaking involved relocating numerous utilities, reconfiguring roadways, and extensive public outreach to ensure community support. Despite an initial 24-month timeline, EPS Group successfully completed the MAG Value Engineering Analysis, project plans, specifications, 52 property acquisitions, and utility relocations within an accelerated 15-month timeframe to secure the federal TIGER grant.
